Focus on Research Data — an online repository portal for managing and making ethnographic and anthropological research collections accessible.

The Ethnoscope portal has just completed the first phase of implementation, during which—in accordance with the operator’s requirements—the architecture and management of documents/items, the method of data entry and management, the metadata schema, selected functionalities, and the user interface design were implemented. Customization of the service was necessary to fully make available the original ethnographic textual and visual documents that capture Slovakia’s intangible cultural and historical heritage. The portal, installed as open-source software, is aligned with the FAIR principles and the tenets of open science (open access, interoperability, metadata standardization, and the use of DOI, ORCID, and ROR identifiers). During the first phase of implementation, the initial test data was migrated.
