What is DARIAH-SK
DARIAH-SK is a national consortium for digital research infrastructures in the humanities. We operate as a distributed network of institutions that collaborate in a coordinated manner to provide digital infrastructure services for:
- the research and academic community,
- the GLAM sector (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums),
- the general public.
Our areas of expertise include:
- computer processing and dissemination of research data,
- development of open-source repositories for cultural and historical heritage,
- construction and analysis of language databases and corpora,
- ethical auditing of new technologies, and the promotion of open science.
As of February 1, 2026, Slovakia, represented by DARIAH-SK, has been an official member of the European research infrastructure DARIAH ERIC. This transnational platform supports collaboration among the digital humanities research community across the EU.
Vision
DARIAH-SK is a key platform for the digital transformation of the humanities in Slovakia. Our strategic priorities are:
- to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure for research and education,
- to apply modern technological solutions to the services we offer,
- to overcome the fragmentation of domestic initiatives in the digital humanities,
- and to create opportunities for international collaboration.
This vision informs our strategic goals for the coming period:
- to coordinate decentralized activities in Slovakia,
- to support the development and operation of research infrastructure services,
- and to fully integrate into the European DARIAH ERIC network.
We are an open platform, ready to collaborate with both domestic and international partners.
